This was my first 4x4 and as mentioned in the intro to my vehicles, it had 467 000 km of merciless abuse on the chassis.
I am sure there are still scars on my knuckles from this particular vehicle. It had a lot of work. We even had to make Nissan Cabstar brakes fit as the original drums at the back was minced up. How is it possible that anyone can drive a vehicle giving no damn about grinding metal noises?
I also had to rewire most of the loom as the original fuse box was a blop of molten carbonised plastic.
Overall, I gained valuable experience which was handy on later trips.
